About Robyn Mearsley

I write clean traditional Regency romances modelled in their witty dialogue and tone on the works of Georgette Heyer. Unlike Heyer, however, I use a more modern language style—though with some nods to the usages of earlier times.

Writing for enjoyment and stimulation, I hope to please my readers with distinctive stories woven into authentic but unfamiliar settings from the past.

As such, my Becksleigh Canal trilogy weaves stories of drama and romance around the ‘mania’ for building narrowboat canals across inland England during the early Industrial Revolution. The series was inspired by a visit to parts of rural England and Wales.

As an independent Australian author living in retirement from formal employment, I now have time for writing and publishing. This includes a plan to publish more Regency novels on Amazon and to develop audiobook versions of my published books.
